Home Value

We have heard rumors that no matter what our mobile home is not worth hardly anything once it has left the seller's lot and we want to know is this true? Our home is in excellent condition and all repairs our adjustments that have been made have been done by carpenters.

We have a 1994 Schulte 15x80 mobile home that we purchased for approximately $32000.00. It has been moved once from a park to our own land. We have made three repairs to the floor where seams have buckled due to water gathering in the insulation under the house. We have also installed a sliding glass door, a deck off the back of the house, and a porch off the front.

Was all of this pointless since, according to rumor, when we decide to sell the house it will be worthless?

Depends if you sell the land with it. It's not worthless, but probably not worth a lot. Being single-wide, it would be easier to move. It's the land that has most of the value. But -
We just put a new MH on our land; the bank had no trouble appraising it + the land at close to what a site-built house would bring.
