Doors and Walls different sizes on the marriage line.

Post by Zman85 » Mon Jul 29, 2024 11:28 am

Hello new owner here.

I'm not sure if this is normal or not, but I am currently updating and renovating. One of the issue I've run into particularly with updating my walls and doors that some of the door frames and the one wall along the marriage line are different sizes.

It looks like a smaller door frame set next to a large one. And the one wall runs a good 6" further then it's mated one. It almost looks like it was two halves that were not meant to be put together but were close enough to fit it could work.

Is this normal? Can I fix it? Ideally I'd like to make the door frames even, at the larger size. And make the walls flush so I can properly redo them. I haven't pulled the wall panels off yet to get a look under it. But was hoping to ask here first before I went that route.

Is there anything I can do here? Sorry for the bad picture I can take better ones later.
