Mobiles homes

Vs Renting

Mom's looking for a home, around Oceanside Vista San Marcos, no further south then(?or than?) Encinitas

What's the difference between mobile home manufactured home evt

Hi, so my mom is wanting to either rent a place or buy a mobile home.

What are the benefits and cods of each, what do you recommend?

What has the best resale value and why?

What has the lowest repair costs? Why?

Is one built better than the other, why?

She is thinking of living in the northern San Diego area, but doesn’t have any idea as to where, around Oceanside Vista San Marcos , as south as Encinitas.

What are some ideas?

What’s the difference between a mobile home and a manufactured home?

So, to answer to your questions:

-A manufactured home is a mobile home. The second term isn't really applicable anymore as it is used for manufactured homes made before 1976, but it remained in our vocabulary because it's widespread.

-When you're looking at renting a flat versus buying a manufactured home, then, the former will ask you to spend less money in one go, but the latter is yours once it's bought, you don't have a rent to pay. Or maybe, at least, a mortgage, but once it's paid, you're good to go. A rent lasts for as long as you live there.

-You can't resell a rented flat, only a manufactured home.

-Both a rented flat and a manufactured home can suffer light or heavy damage and it'll always be expensive. Having to redo an entire wall of your manufactured home because its filling is rotten is expensive, but not more so than fixing a wall in a rented flat that suffered from water infiltrations, for example.

-A rented flat will be built more sturdily than a manufactured home because it doesn't have to be moved around.

However, I can't answer your question about the San Diego area as I don't know it at all.
