Roof level changes on mobile

Hi all - I am in the process of purchasing a pre-76 mobile as a weekend/fishing home at the lake in AR. I want to have a new roof put on ASAP and am trying to decide whether to DIY or contract out. I'm unsure on what to do at a certain spot on the roof where the level changes (see picture attached). At that circled point, on both sides of the home, there is water leaking inside.
I want to do a metal roof and am not sure how to account for the level change - maybe with flashing? Does anyone have experience with a mobile home roof of the type in this picture? Any recommendations on how to move forward...roof type, solution, etc?
