Removing gas fireplace from park model

Hi there,
We have just bought a park model home and it came with a propane fireplace. I would like to remove the fireplace so we have more room in the living area for seating, and am wondering if anyone has had experience with removing one. I'm really curious about whether or not the floors would need to be refinished, or if fireplaces are installed after the floors are done.
