Trailer reinstall in Iowa

Hi All!
I've purchased an older mobile home to move onto some land I own in Iowa. The state licensed mobile home installer has recommended installing it on 6mil plastic with gravel. Turns out that for trailer reinstalls that is all that is required. No frost piers. I plan on living in this trailer for the foreseeable future---could be decades--- and some of my blue collar friends are telling me that without frost piers I can't expect a level future, that my doors won't close and my windows won't open. I'm trying to find out if theirs anyone who has done this and what your experience has been.
