Laminate flooring vs. luxury vinyl tile

We have a double wide 20 year old manufactured home on a foundation system. The former owners install laminate flooring which was subsequently covered over with sheet vinyl and carpet. We would like to install a new floor and are looking at both laminate and luxury vinyl tile. We have been told laminate would require tearing out all the old flooring, leveling the home and possibly installing a sub-floor. We don't know much about the LVT but from what I have seen on-line it appears we could just install it over the existing flooring. I would like your opinion on this and if you know much about LVT use in manufactured homes. Thanks for any help you an provide.

How laminate flooring and luxury vinyl tile (LVT) compare as flooring solutions and which is right for your home? After all, in the world of hard-surface flooring (as opposed to the soft, carpeted kind), laminate flooring, such as American Concepts laminate flooring manufactured by Swiss Krono, and LVT are highly popular with homeowners. (By the way, LVT is part of what is known as “resilient flooring” that also includes sheet-vinyl and rubber flooring.)
