Motorized Roof Vent

Hello, First time user and owner here.
Recently I just purchased 1624 sq. ft. manufactured home in the Calif. Sierra Foothills.
For the most part, I have pretty much figured out how everything works, but there is a motorized roof vent (i think) on the roof that appears to run indiscriminately. There is no control switch for it and on vent/grill/louver on the inside of the house. The house does not have attic space, it's all vaulted ceilings. it is near the roof ridge beam and located closer to one end of the house than the other. there are four soffet vents lccated on each lower corner of the roof.
Can anyone tell me what the purpose of the vent is and what controls it??
