My family lost our home from hurricane issac. We recently bought a 28x80 double wide. The lady we got it from had purchased it with land from a sheriffs sale.(We just bought the trailer and had it moved to our land) We have a bill of sale and wanted to get a tile. But there was no make, not on the bill of sale, trailer or paperwork work from auction. We went to DMV they were able to look up the vin but saw no make. We also had the state police do an inspection, but no make. We also called local trailer companies that were nice enough to try to help. But the too found no manufacture. One person said it was made in Alabama. The trailer was gutted from the previous owners.(Sheriff's Sale) so there is no cabinets, ect. I have searched the exterior frame and tongues. The vin is all I found stamed on frame.
If anyone can help, your a miracle worker. Thanks in advance.
Vin is AHAL027298A/B

If you have a serial number, and want to find out more about your home such as the the date of manufacture or the manufacturer's name, Request a verification letter from the Institute for Building Technology and Safety Call 703-481-2010. The Institute for Building Technology and Safety (IBTS), as the Department of Housing and Urban Development's monitoring contractor under the Federal Manufactured Housing Program, is required to maintain all reported serial mumbers and certification label numbers, and has been the sole source of this data since 1976. Get more details at http://www.ibts.org/services/services-i ... ation.html

I am interested in purchasing a mobile home. It is a 1973 ELDO 12x56 VIN # 3318T. I am concerned that the walls may have been made with a material that would be HAZARDOUS to my health. I remember there was a problem of this sort back in those days but not sure of the year. Can you help shed any light on this for me? Thank you.

I need the manufacturer's name for this mobile home:
the original information was listed incorrectly as: built in 2005, serial # was:PFS00008564444/470. The corrected, new information in judgment, Horry County Clerk's Office, SC, dated 3/26/2013 is:
Built in 2004 with serial #MP18-12618AB

Please advise name of manufacturer as soon as you can as I am purchasing said mobile home today, 5/6/2013 and need to get house insurance onit.

Thank you very much!

The HUD (United States Department of Housing and Urban Development) certification label is a red metal label affixed to a manufactured home by the home's original manufacturer. The HUD certification label, commonly referred to as the HUD label, exists as proof that your house was constructed under the Federal Manufactured Housing Program administered by HUD.

The Institute for Building Technology and Safety (IBTS), as the Department of Housing and Urban Development's monitoring contractor under the Federal Manufactured Housing Program, is required to maintain all reported certification label applications, and has been the sole source of this data since 1976 Visit their HUD Label Verification page. They will be able to tell you:

Serial Number
Date of Manufacture
Name of the Manufacturer and Plant Location
Location of First Destination (usually the retailer)
