Has anyone installed a pellet stove in an existing MH fireplace with an insert? I believe this is easier than a woodstove and cleaner.
Thanks

Re: Pellet stove experience
Let me caution you, I have yet to find either a pellet or wood stove that is HUD approved for installation in a manufactured home. If they do not have this approval, they are non-compliant, and may be a real problem with an insurance company in the event of fire.

Re: Pellet stove experience
There are many pellet stoves that are approved for mobile homes I have one. I have a Breckwell P23 with pedestal (not legs) the only difference was the hearth pad and unit has to be bolted to the floor and cannot be installed in a bedroom. My model also came in a insert style.
If you do your research and checking with places that sell them they will tell you if it authorized for mobile home use. Even online the description will tell if if it's authorized. There is no difference in price or anything else. And I had a lot to choose from.
By the way I LOVE MINE ! It has cut my electric furnace bill by 2/3 since I generally don't have to use it at all. Im near Baltimore and it was rather cold this winter. Also, I have 1900 sq ft home and used 3 tons of pellets. If you are serious I'd suggest you start looking for pellets sooner rather than later. Some places will let you order in the spring to deliver in the fall if you don't have storage for them.
TO RBONNIE - I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE YOU GET YOUR INFO BUT YOU ARE NOT CORRECT, PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH.
