My family and I have moved out of our foreclosed mobile home two months ago. The mobile home sits in a park. The park managers have been sending us lot bills ever since. The mortgage company has sent a certified letter stating they have complete possession of the property, and it will be sold on Oct. 6th.
I have been paying the lot payments as they come from my savings, however, these payments of $400.00 a month, on top of my rent now are killing me. I was told, after I vacated the home, I was no longer obligated to pay the lot payment. this was by the previous manager, who we had discussed our vacancy with. When I had called the new managers, after receiveing the first bill, they had told me that this was incorrect. It does not matter who owns the propery, and if some one is living there, that my name was on the paperwork, and I am responsible for the lot payment.
So far, I have payed two payments, along with the water bill. We have not been to the home since we had left. I just want to make sure that I am not getting wrong information from the current managers. If I owe the lot payment, then I will pay it. But, how do they justify, paying for Oct.payment when the house is being picked up?

Re: vacancy
Re-read your lot rental agreement. It should state how long you agreed to continue to pay lot rent and under what conditions....

Re: vacancy
As David said the written lease is the overriding document. Most leases are for 1 year with renewals then some time automatic..Even if the space is empty they may well be able to collect until you meet the terms of the lease..I only hope they are not charging the bank as well as you. Often banks do pick up the payments while in the foreclosure process.Sorry to hear about your bad luck..
