Custom 2-story modulars?

I have a property with three legal units on it. One was a grandfather'd studio converted back in the 50's from its former "garage" state. The other near the same was a workshop that had a foundation pour to the inside of the wood framed unit. Thes units are 75 years old and I have remodeled and upgraded them the best I could.

But.......it's time for replacement. And I am currently in a neighborhood that is designated with a height limit of 30'. So, I'd like to take my 625 sq. ft. units and tear them down...to be replaced with similar sized units that go up. I'd be looking at a max footprint of probably the same 25'X25' Maybe up to 25X30.

So my question is, because the footprint is so small, but necessary, are there any companies that can put a two-story pre-fab together in the required space?

This is a California property where current stick construction costs are about $250 sq. ft. I need to save lots of money, so who can help me out here?

There are modular builders that build every conceivable design and style...Most 2 story homes with a high pitch roof is only 25 to 26 feet high...Some builders build stack units mostly used in motels so your project is possible..Often one floor is sold unfinished to hold down costs and give you honey do projects for years to come...Find modular manufacturers in your area and get their list of builders in your area....Good Luck keep us informed of your progress..
