Date home was manufactured

I just bought a Melody Manufactured home in Brownsville TX. I have a copy of the SOL with everything except the date of manufacture. In order to put insurance on this home I need this. The previous owner is not quite sure if it's a late 70s model or early 80s.

IBITS has all the HUD records..If the home was built after 1976 all the info is here and avaiable for a fee..

Looking for information on manufacturer of 1975 Gentry home. Understand it may have been ATCO, but haven't found any information on ATCO either.

I looked the serial number up on TDHCA's website. If you just put the first few digits of the serial number it will bring up all the serial numbers that start with those digits. Because manufacturers use the serial numbers in consecutive order you can guestimate the manufacture date from homes manufactured with close serial number to yours. I would think the home was either manufactured in 1983 or 1984. The only way you will be able to get the actual date (month and day) would be to find out who has the original manufacturers documents. I believe Melody Homes is no longer in existence. Good Luck. Hopefully the insurance company will accept an approximate date.

Ibits as mentioned above WILL produce a HUD letter with exact details for any home built in these years..
