Hello,
We are buying (at least trying our hardest to) a 1988 Remington double wide. We are less then a week away from closing (the 28th is our closing date) and on Tuesday we got a phone call saying the appraisal person could not find the HUD label. We went on Wed. thinking maybe since they resided the home it would be under it and it wasn't. All we have no is the Serial number which is 50305841AB and the make of the mobile home which is Remington. Now in order to get the loan we need the HUD label. I know we can get the information from IBTS but, I need more then just the Serial number. There is no papers on any where in the house. This is a Repo place so I am wondering if the original owners might have the red label. Is there anything else we can?
Also is the Serial number and the VIN number on the title the same thing in Oklahoma? The title says date sold on June 14th 1988 so we have very little to work with. Thank you for any help you might lend us.

IBITS is the ONLY place you can get the required verification letter...According to their site you have all info they require..
"Q: One Or More HUD Certification Labels Are Missing From My Home! What Can I Do?
A: Don't panic! A missing label can't be replaced, but you may request, for a nominal fee, a verification letter from our office that has been accepted by all parties in lieu of a label. IBTS has created a comprehensive electronic database recording all reported and distributed HUD certification labels since June 15, 1976.
I assmue the date palte is also missing..it would have additional info..
You might want to invest in a phone call to them.."Call 703-481-2010, email our Labels Department, or use our online verification form."
A URGENT request will be charged $75.00 and processed in about 2 business days...
The seriel nunber IS the VIN# on the title...The title date should help them find the info..since the home would have to have been built from 7/1/1987 up till the day of the title...
If the state was the original tile issuer, they will have somewhere in their archives thew MSO...The original factory ownership document to the dealer showing the build date, Manufacture name and address...So if IBITS insists on this info, It can be had..
