Buying a pre owned MH

Post by Annette » Sat Jan 05, 2008 12:45 pm

My husband and I are looking to by a MH at the end of this year. Our question is if we choose to buy pre-owned what would be a good reliable Brand to by? We want 2X6 outside walls and energy windows. We have been looking at New ones because of the set-up and delievery. This is the last home purchase I want to make and we want something we can retire in. We have been looking at the Sunshine, Franklin and Deer Valley homes in North Louisiana. We want to pay cash, no loan. Thank you much, Annette

Since you will have no warranty..Buying used will require much more information and care....Visit the book store here and invest a few dollars in the good resource how to buy books available there..All the advice will be the same as if the home was new..Then read these forms back as far as you can...There are very few questions about manufactured homes that have not been asked here before..The search function above will search thousands of posts here over about 5 years of time..Ask here when you have a specific question...One thing you will see here often about used is the recommendation of a professional home inspection prior to purchase..Used are usually sold delivered by dealers just like new...Delivery and set up can be thousands more than many folks expect....Be sure your property is properly prepared during the time you have..The resources here on this web site are great help..Consumes Union (the parent of Consumers Report Magazine) Has great list of articles available on the web...Start here

These should keep you busy for a while..Stop back here often...

Good Luck with your quest..
