Severe accident damage

Post by helens » Sat Nov 04, 2006 9:47 am

I live in the UK but own a home in Florida. On Wednesday a car decided to park in my front room! The wall and windows have been badly damaged (i.e. you can see right through them) and the outside appears badly twisted from the impact (from the photos I have been sent) I have all the sheriffs report and file no. My insurance agent has been to inspect the damage and the adjuster is coming out on Monday. Does anyone have any experience of this type of damage?. I would like to know what to expect. Can it/should it be repaired or should I be expecting the whole front wall to be replaced? Should I also be able to claim for damage to the furniture, the outside garden, the carpet? Any advice would be gratefully received. I can't believe it-managed to survive hurricane season (whcih trashed the house a couple of years back, now hit by a car!)

I would suspect your insurance company will help you contact the drivers company.....The police report will have the policy company name and number on it..The drivers insurance should be paying for all the costs of repair....garden..furniture wall and everything it takes to make you whole....You should be out nothing...You might ask your park manager to help you with the details...
