Pat, I too live in Missouri and have been following your posts. I have been getting the same type of scenario from the dealer that we are using only my dealer has emphatically told me that the state REQUIRES me to pour a minimum 6 inch pad that is 1 foot longer and 1 foot wider than the actual foot print. I live in the Sikeston, MO area and my dealer is in the Cape Girardeau area. E-Mail me if you are in the same area and maybe we can pool resources to put a stop to all of this from the dealer.

placement of piers
Re: placement of piers
If you have read all the post..you now know you should set the home in the manner that the set up manual and foundation diagram require...No state or dealer can change these requirements..Sounds like you two might have the same dealer...
Re: placement of piers
I think that this once again demonstrates that ultimate importance for buyers in selecting their dealer.... You may save a few bucks by managing your own installation but in the vast majority of cases its just not worth it. You will end up spending more in time money and aggravation if you dont work with a reputable dealer. Price is important but peace of mind still rates higher.

Re: placement of piers
The site below has a 51 page pdf file (you nede acrobat reader from adobe to open it) that is called guide to installing manufactured homes in Indianna. It describes the piers and should help you in building this foundation.
