Leveling a triple wide manufactured home

Post by Liz » Thu Oct 27, 2005 10:05 am

Hi I am wondering if anyone knows anything about leveling a 99 fleetwood triple wide? I bought the book by Mark Brower but we have the Jack stands not the blocks like most people and I am not sure where to place the water level on them?
any info would be great! It costs 1000.00 to have it done here!

What you are leveling with a water level, is the frame of the home, the floor will automatically follow. The fact that you have jack stands or piers is not important. That being said, this is not a job for an amateur. As the home moves, so moves the roof and the rack of the home.

We have used a Zircon water level and it says that the middle section of our home is one and a half inches lower than the front and back sections. I have tried to get someone to come out and re level it but there is only one guy that does it around here and he says to just leave it and hope for the best and I really don't like that answer. He says that he has never done a triple wide before anyways. I don't want our house to fall apart. Our roof line has resently become uneven and so is the floor also we have started seeing places on the walls that are kind of buckling,so it wasent this way when we bought it, unless it takes a long time to show up. Our home is were there was an Orchard before so it could have settled alot from roots that is the only thing I can think of anyways. We don't know what to do, any help would be great. I am a little worried because it is snowing and the extra weight makes me nervous. Thank you

In order to level the center section of a triple, you must first separate the outer sections from the center section. I would be concerned as to why this home is out of level, if it was level in the first place. Review your installation manual for proper footing sizing and column support piering. Again this is not a job for an amatuer.
