Quick claim deed

Post by Joshua » Wed Jun 15, 2005 8:32 pm

What is meant by this term?
Went by a dealer and he told me that since I already owned some land, he could quick claim deed the land over to him as part of the down payment, so I could order the home from him.
How do I play it safe and not get my land taken from me?
Is there a quick claim deed example out there?

The term is Quit Claim deed..This means you are GIVING all our ownership interest to the person who gets tthe deed...With real estate you should always have legal advice...Get an attorney..A better way to protect both of you would be for the dealer to file a lien (mortage) on the property for the amount you agree to put at risk..This way if you change your mind..All you have to do is pay the agreed upon damages and your land is yours again...BE CAREFUL

I wouldn't touch that deal on a good day. It's a great deal for the MH dealer and a poor one for you. You get into a bind and the dealer OWNS it all !!!!
Have an lawyer tell ya that, then belive him!!!! NEVER EVER do real estate without a lawyer in your corner. YOUR LAWYER NOT HIS !!!!!!
