I was reading your forum and a person is in 'kind of' the same situation we are in. We are looking at purchasing some property that has a 1974 mobile home on it. There is no foundation, although it is on pillars, the 'Y' (yoke) is removed and there is skirting surrounding it. The lender is having a diffcult time approving the purchase because of the mobile home, first the age, then the idea that this is 'chattel' (homes not part of the realestate). In searching the internet last night I came across information about surrendering the title to the Auditors Office to make the mobile home part of the realestate. Is there any truth to this?

Every state has different rules...but pre-HUD 1976 or older homes have little chance for fiance except for creative finance involving the selller..

Bank most likely will not do this deal...
