5/8 FLOORING

Post by dwight » Tue Aug 03, 2004 6:57 am

I have been looking at Norris & Crystal Valley homes in eastern Ky. The Norris dealer said 5/8 osb was the standard floor they offered and there was no upgrade. These would be coming out of the Bean Station Tn plant. Does anyone know if this is correct, as I would rather upgrade to 3/4 osb or plywood if possible. Also Crystal Valley has evidently changed to Cresdeck or something similar. Does Patriot offer a better floor in the Crystal Valley.

You should still be able to upgrade the Crystal Valley to OSB. Patriot is promoting Cressdeck, but they are still offering OSB for an extra charge.

I would have never guessed that Norris had such an inferior floor...They used to be the top of the Clayton line...You are wise to be looking for better floor..

Floors take the most abuse over the years...and massive repairs in the future can be very expensive...buy the best floor you can afford.....

Seems that many materials cost have risen in the last few months and it also seems that many manufacturers are lowering the standards to help keep prices down..but..skimping on the floor is a bad idea...
