New Flooring in Patriot Homes

Post by Bill Beebe » Fri Jul 02, 2004 9:06 am

I am in the process of selecting between a Patriot home and a Indes home and had just decided on the Patriot when I found out that the 2005 models came with a flooring system called Cress-X (don't know if the spelling is correct or not). I was assured that this would not delaminate and that it was a very good product since it has less joints and all are located on a floor joist eliminating the need for T&G joints. However, the cost of replacing this with plywood is $1,500.00 so I am concerned that this may be a less quality product. Does anyone know about it and where I can get information on this product.

Thanks,

This sounds like cressdeck/novadeck which is another word for particle board. The $1500 upgrade will be money well spent because particleboard does not hold up to moisture and although it will not "delaminate" it will swell when exposed to water.

It is an American Heritage, I think. The model is "Arlington Falls".
