I am needing to buy a MH 24x50 (double-wide) that will withstand harsh california winters and can be custom made to handle codes (2x6) and my design requirements that can be of high quality and financable. Can you direct me to some good manufacturers?
Thanks!

2x6 exterior is standard in the Northwest, and you can option up roofs to 80-lb. snow load (20-30 is standard). I bought a Karsten last year; Fuqua looked nice also. Double-pane vinyl windows are generally standard in this area. Ours had Hardi-Plank siding standard. You can tour the plant (I signed the inside of my home) to get a feel for the construction. The consistent theme in this forum seems to be - go with OSB or plywood floors, 2X8 or 2x10 floor joists (mine has cresdek floor - waxy particle board - ok with me since the kids are grown - moisture not an issue)

I'm sure others will chime in, and you can buy Randy Eaton's mfr. rating book on this site.
Have fun!
