plumbing

I recently bought a 94 Fleetwood home in WA. The home seems to be well maintained, however I heard or read something about the plumbing supply lines being subject to problems. The only lines I can see are above the water heater and they are gray plastic. Is there anything I should be concerned about?

Thanks,
Phil

That home has polybutalyn (s?)lines. If the fittings are also poly (the gray stuff) they will leak in time.A quick fix is to replace all these fitting (sink, toilet, water heater supply, etc).with regular brass fittings and compresion bands. There is a class action suit on this pipe but I think the time period to file is either finished or coming to a end soon.Odds are if the lines never freeze and you replace the fittings you won't have a problem. However poly is no longer used and is prone to leaking.
