just starting the process

Hi, hope you can help me. I am a 51 yr old divorced woman with 2 boys, ages 10 & 13. I also have my elderly 82 yr.old mother living with us. I work from my home and also we homeschool so we really do alot of living in our domicile!! Years ago, a builder reccommended that I investigate mfg. hsg as an option. I have never forgotten his advice. We need to find a home but I don't know how to start. We live in Michigan, thinking about moving north of Grand Rapids, but not completely sure of our location yet. Possibly the south end of Grand Rapids area. I am a shopper, I like to do research and feel very confident that I am working with a quality product. Not afraid to think outside the box for a deal either. Can you imput?
