Single wide 1983 Fleetwood added Truss roof over rounded metal over top of existing

Hello. Have you done any trussed roof over existing round roof on a single wide? Our 1983 Fleetwood has that and I would love to see how it was done. It appears that they raised the roof about 6" installed 2x4 trusses BUT left all of the existing 1x2 framing and the rolled metal in place. I want to remove the existing 1x2 and metal so that we can more adequately insulate inside the truss roof.

Yes, this kind of truss-over on older rounded metal roofs is pretty common. If your new trusses are fully supporting the roof, you can remove the old 1x2s and metal to improve insulation. Just watch for any wiring up there and make sure you add proper ventilation and a vapor barrier afterward. It’s definitely doable.
