Hello.
I have an 84 Skyline that we just purchased.
I've discovered the jackass that installed the dryer vented it straight through the heating/ac duckwork. Now the heat goes under the home instead of towards the back half of the home .
Can I cut out the bad section which is only 8 to 10 inches and install I new piece and where can I buy a replacement.
Thanks.
Ac/heat duckwork.
Re: Ac/heat duckwork.
Check if the existing duct is round, oval, or rectangular—this affects the replacement fit.
While you’re at it, consider installing a backdraft damper or insulation wrap, especially if the duct runs under the home.

And don't forget to add backdraft damper and wrap insulation if the pipe is located where heat loss is easy.

Before purchasing a replacement duct, determine if it is round, oval, or rectangular in shape.
If the duct is located beneath the house, you may want to place an insulating wrap or backdraft damper at the same time.

Go to an HVAC Supply Store. These are places that specialize in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. They will have a wider range of sizes and materials. A quick search for “HVAC supply store near me” will give you some options.
