Would it be possible to convert a single wide mole home into mobile warehouses. Basically, I envision a 14x70 single wide, with all interior walls removed, and open end to end. Perhaps the bath would be left. On one end would be a garage style door and a dock built into the exterior. Sitting on piers it could placed at standard dock height. I would run new wiring for good lighting via conduit along the walls.
The purpose for us would be to take in truckloads of major appliances (150 - 350 pounds each) and would have 50-70 appliances in at a time. I would be seeking homes in distressed condition and needing to be moved already. At nearly 1000 square feet under roof already insulated, it seems like a way to add work and storage space at a decent cost.
So … are they strong enough to be a warehouse? What problems to you see to the plan? We could add an extra layer of flooring if needed. Thoughts?

Re: Repurposing mobile homes
While converting a spacious mobile home into a storage unit is possible, careful planning and consideration of structural integrity, functionality, and compliance with local regulations are essential. Consulting with a structural engineer or contractor experienced in commercial conversions can provide valuable insights and help ensure the success of your project.
