Horton Homes
Horton Homes
Is there anyone on this List who has firsthand knowledge of Horton Homes? The company has one manufacturing plant. It is located in Eatonton, Georgia. The quality seems to be very good but I am very interested in talking with those who have a working knowledge of this manufacturer. I have a couple questions on the "First Time Purchaser" List so will not repeat them here. Thanks, L Jane
Re: Horton Homes
My first hand knowledge comes from being a Horton (as well as 5 other manufacturers) not far from the plant...
The basic construction is very good...They offer all sorts of models with different trim packages...even though there is only 1 plant (actually 3 all in 1 place)...They build a large number of homes...
If you have any specific questions..post them here or email me..

Re: Horton Homes
Actually we like the idea of going to a small company. We have looked at Horton off and on over a 10 year period and have always been impressed with the basic quality. After buying Randall's "Manufactured Homes Comparison Guide" we feel even more confident in our ability to find the best-built MH for our money. We also like the idea of dealing with a local company. Eatonton is not that far from Monroe. We are pleased with the gentleman in Athens with whom we have been working. I would like to go down to Eatonton and take a tour of the factory. Thank you for offering answers to my questions. Shall get back with you with some. L Jane
Re: Horton Homes
We bought our Horton 8 years ago, and the only reason we are looking into buying a new home is that we have outgrown this one. Ours is a 2 bdrm/2bath 14 X 70 single wide and with the kids getting older and their friends visiting more and more we need more space. I love the size of Horton's bedrooms, they seem to understand that people like to sleep in something bigger than a box for you bed. I can not find anything about our home that I could complain about, we just need more room now. Good luck.
Re: Horton Homes
I have owned my horton home for 5years in Acworth, Georgia. Its a 4 bedroom, 2Bath 24 x 60 and I am selling it now only because I recently got married and have moved. My utilities in this home were always reasonable and I have always felt comfortable when we have had a bad storm since the construction of my home is like a normal built home.
Re: Horton Homes
Hey, Holly, I'm in the Acworth area. Where is your home? Is it on its own land?
Re: Horton Homes
My husband and I are considering purchasing a Horton modular home. I can't find many pictures of their homes online and was wondering if you had any info. We have been looking at the Boss home and the salesman said that we could do that in a modular but I would like to know what the exterior would be like. Anything that you could tell me about Horton would be great. We have narrowed down our decision to Horton or Home of Merit. We have a single-wide Fleetwood we have to trade-in , so our decision will be based on how much will be added to our loan for the trade. I am leaning towards Horton because I felt more comfortable with the salesman and the quality and price seems better. Thanks for any help!! Jennifer PS, I live in Florida, just outside of Pensacola!
