Andrew, what is obvious to me is you failed to do your research prior to buying a home. You also failed to hire a professional inspector to check out the home before you bought a used home. My wife and I did lots of research by visiting this site, reading Grissom's books, and visiting lots of dealerships before we bought our home. We have been it for almost three years now and love it.

To anyone considering a new or used home, please make sure you do your research FIRST. If you are buying a used home OF ANY TYPE, spend a few dollars to have a professional check it out. If you fail to do that, please don't blame the manufacturer or builder for your lack of due dilligance.
