Sheetrock shaded in mobilehomes

Post by B.C.T. » Fri Dec 28, 2001 10:16 pm

Dear sir ; I work at Belmont Homes a Division of Caviler Homes Inc. Belmont Mississippi. For the last 2 weeks our plant has run around 30 to 40 homes or more with shaded sheetrock. Our plant production manager knows of this default. I feel like that this will hurt our sells very badly. It is a company error onthe behalf of the sheetrock company. We feel that this is not the thing to do ,to keep our company running with the upmost respect of the customer whom buys our homes. What can a person do to stop this from hurting our sales of our homes in the future. We don't want to manufacture Homes in this manner. Thanks for your concern. We would appericate your advice.

Be very careful here, as this enters the "whistle blower" guidelines under federal law. (since HUD is involved.) Please research the following site www.usg.com (US Gypsum company web site. Click on "search" and enter "shaded" and look at responses, there will be nine. They seem to be called Duroscreen, and are designed for use as exterior walls. Don't do anything that would jeoprodize your job.

You will have to judge whether the quality of "shaded" drywall is stronger than basic drywall. Also visit the HUD site, www.hud.gov/fha/sfh/mhs/mhsshtmr.html, builders and manufacturers forum for additional help.

This is my opinion only, and you will have to rely on your own research about this problem.
