While upgrading a future purchase of a Hallmark Home my sales person stated that because I was getting the upgrades at cost there would be a "Dealers Tax" of 5%. Has anyone heard of such. This is not the Calif. sales tax.

California dealers are not allowed to specifically charge tax on sales of new homes although they are charged a tax by the state on each home sold which they then need to build into their overhead. It is an overhead and profit markup and it is incorrect to call it any sort of tax.

Only CA liberals would think any tax is anything but a tax on the consumer...Tax the business and not the buyer..keeps the votes flowing...Of course.consumer pays in the end......
