When we pulled up the carpet in the den of the home we just purchased, we saw that there was water damage, I'm assuming from a broken washing machine. The flooring...is it some sort of partical board? Anyway, I sprayed a bleach solution on, and it just soaked right in.
I want to get rid of the mold before we put down our new flooring. Does anyone know if we can kill this mold, or should we try to replace the segments of flooring that have it on there? Should I just keep spraying on the bleach?
Thanks!

old water damage and mold under carpet
Re: old water damage and mold under carpet
If the flooring it self isn't damaged, I would recommend painting the flooring with a product like Kilz. It works great and will seal the area.
It stinks pretty bad when you put it on, but well worth the stink.
