Does anyone know what is needed in MD to put a modular home of a piece of land and not in a park?

Your dealer should be able to advise you..check with the local building inspector in the area you want to go in.......

Im trying to find this out for my mother who already has a modular home in a park and wants to move it to her own land. How do I get in contact with a building inspector?

First..if your mom is in a park..it is quite likely that she has a manufactured home...NOT a modular home..this could make a huge difference to the building official.... Finds the counties web site...most counties have a mapping tool to look up her property on..most often these maps will tell you what zoning area the land is in...Then find the planning and zoning department on the site and find the phone number..call them give them her address and ask the rules in her area..REMEMBER..as far as the government is concerned..she has a manufactured home...NOT modular...
