Identifying Roof Shingles

We have a 1992 Marlette - Crestmanor. Does anyone know how to find out what company provided the shingles for this home? Even Marlette can't tell me. The shingles have lasted 15 years and I am told that most shingles have a 25 year warranty so I want to check into that. Also, I am trying to find out what the definite FHA requirements are for re-roofing. The inspector "recommends" a complete tear-off and re-roofing, but we want to know if FHA actually requires this or if they'll accept a second layer of shingles. I can't find, at any FHA site, what they actually will accept.

Thank you for any help.

even though the shingles are warrantied for 25 years, it is a pro rated warranty. you will get next to nothing. don't waste your time.
You need to do a complete tear off as your home (and most) are not designed to take the additional weight of a second layer of shingles.
Sorry, that the truth.
