I would like to know all so, I have seen several Schult Mfg. Homes, And have done a lot of searching, But never heard of any serious problems, We did compare these to the Palm Harbor, Geee Did not see any differance, The Palm Harbor did not have any Cutecies ( As the Sales Lady Put It ) LOL! No Skylites, The Schult did have a better look and way below the price of a PH, They ( PH ) Will give you 500.00 for every customer you send to them and buys one, What does that tell you? Naw We will stay with The Schult homes, They have been bldg. Homes for 60 yrs-

I am an electrician at a Schult/Oakwood plant in Kansas. Do not confuse the two. Schult is owned by Oakwwood. We build both. Schult is the better home.

I would do LOTS of research on Oakwood homes before I would sign on the dotted line for any of their homes. They manufacture under several different companies, Schultz, Housesmart being two, I can't remember the others at the moment.
I would stay waaayyyyy away from anything connected with Oakwood. Do a keyword search for Oakwood on the computer and you will come up with lots!
Good luck and email me if you want more specifics on our experience.

Pat,
It's people like you that make it bad for a company by generalizing. I own a Golden West home in So. Cal and have had no problems with it. Golden West is owned by Oakwood and I have had nothing but prompt and wonderful service from Oakwood. If you are going to generalize, try to at least be specific about what the problem with the company is.

Well if you wired our Schult, Why did you leave bare wires hanging and they are not hooked up to zilch? ( By The Furnace) all so the wall switches do nothing, Not turning off or on the wall sockets, AND the thermostat for furnace hot wires went to ground, Staples were shot through them, And to the plumbers, They must have a had a Major Hang Over, Lines were all messed up, And According to the Brochure , The side by side Refer was supposed to have a ice maker, Hummm, I wonder where that go to? And Brass Rings on the light fixture in the Dinning room they are all gone gone,, Hey other then these little piddley things our home is just Great, We Love it, More to come later, Sure hope its GOOD!!!!!!

I bought a PH home also looked at newer model used Shulte...both new PH and used Shulte were same price...chose the new PH and IM GLAD I DID!!! We just moved my now 3-yr old PH in a precarious manner (Lots of stress on the home) and had not one iota of damage, not so much as a quiver in wall panels, ceilings, etc. I'm glad to be a PH owner! I've heard some BAAAD things about Oakwood, I know Shulte is built by the same people, I may not have skylights, but i have an excellent home.
