I live in Phoenix, and in hopes of reducing my energy costs I am considering installing a roof by Alumi-cover. It is costly at $5200 for a 24x56 home. Anyone head of this system? It is new perimeter framing, insulating foam panels then enameled alum. roof. Anyone know of a less expensive way to go?
Thanks for any help.

What type of roof do u have? Is it pitched? Flat? Rounded over? And will u b doing the install yourself? U can save about half the cost doing it yourself. If u have a flat roof u should consider a pitched roof. this type of roof requires a ridge board (say a 2x10) with either 2x4 or 2x6 trusses. 2" insulation board. U can nail some osb on top and shingle it or better yet use metal roofing. easy to install and lasts for ever maintenance free. If u have a radiused roof u might consider buying david bowers book on repair and upgrade. He gives a detailed instruction on installing a metal roofover. A quality roof for around $1000 or so.

Thank you Gary for your input. I have a rounded over, metal, and in somewhat good shape. I have a friend willing to help me, so will get the book you suggested and see what happens. Thanks, Don
