Formica Countertops

Has anyone had a problem with formica countertop installation? Skyline Mfg Homes seems to have put mine in backwards..that is to say they applied the top first and the edges second, leaving the glue seam visible when looking down. Some of them are even coming loose and I have not even gotten a certificate of occupancy yet!!! When I wrote to Skyline (by Certified Mail), I got an immediate call back from the Division Manager, who said that was not a mistake. It was because they buy all of their countertops with the formica already on them and just apply the edges at the factory. They have been doing this all over the country and have never had a problem or even a comment!
I have also talked with several professionals in this field, who are unanimous in saying that it was done backwards.
Anyway, Skyline will not do anything!! Pretty lousy for an otherwise quality construction!! I'm not even sure that I believe that all of their countertops come in with the formica alread on the tops!
Any comments or suggestions?
