We are about to make a good deal on a patriot home in Houston, Tx.
I believe the quality is very good. with 2x6 wall studs and 2x8 floor joists,
and good insulation, will my electric bill go down? or is this just hype???

I will say I do not have a definate answer, for you. This matter seems to be very risky, but as I have a 1973 single wide, I would say this sounds like it has evrything you would need for some great insulation for your new home. Good to hear I am not the only one with questions reguarding this subject. Thanks for thinking ahead. Buy the way I may not even have any.

Find out how much insulation they use. Also ask what kind of lumber they used .I think they used #3 lumber in our Patriot home . And dont forget to ask what size they used in your roof. I have had many problems with ours and have been forced to get the state to make the repairs to code. My floor decking had a lot of missed nails.And many of the 2x s under the decking were not good.and they had to repair them. BUT IT TOOK THE STATE getting involved to get them to do the repairs.
