double vapor barriers

I am happy to say that I have been dealing with Hartzler's Quality Homes in Dover Ohio where I purchased a 14x 70 skyline (sugarcreek plant) three weeks ago. They have been prompt, professional and courteous. HUD has been a pain in the a#$, but beside that it was smooth sailing and up-front sales experiences. I will be recieving my home here in a few weeks, possibly as early as next week. :)

Okay, now on the main subject... I live in Southeast Ohio and we get all four seasons (some times in the same day!). I purchased a 20 x 100 6mil plastic vapor barrier for my home and I have placed it where the home will be!.

Question....How much vapor barrier is too much? I would like to double this just to protect the bottom of the house of rotting out or to save money with the extra insulating power of double barrier??

Any suggestions or comment??

Doubling it up will help in the event one layer gets torn.
Other than that there is no real benefit.
If you do double it up, make sure you have 2 layers on the ground. Don't try to pu the second layer up against the house or anything like that. You don't want air space between the 2 layers.
Also make sure the greound is sloped where the home will be, so that if you poured a gallon of water on the ground it would run out into the yard. This is very important to prevent water from pooling on top of your vapor barrier.
