SIMPLEX MODULARS

After researching for a modular home for 6 months, was interested in viewing models by Simplex modulars of Pa. Called and made an appointment to speak with a representative of their sales dept. a Mr. Allen Peters. Upon our arrival, Mr.Peters, immediately introduced us to a builder who was discribed as the official contractor for the Wayne County, Pa. area territory. After viewing models and having a site inspection done by this contractor, we entered into a contract for our modular to be built. Our contract called for a deposit for the start of the modular, which was paid to the contractor. After several months and many delays, there seemed to be no end in sight. Tried contacting Simplex in regards to what the delays were, and never received a return call, this after 5 attempts. On the 6th attempt, was told to speak to the head sales manager, Mr. Dave
Benello, of course he was not available, and would have to return our call. He did, and based upon our conversation, our Wayne County, Pa. area contractor no long did business with his company. When asked, at what stage our modular home was built, he informed me, that it was never started, as they did not receive the payment from the contractor. Oh, but he would recommend another contractor who could erect our home. Can't tell u how happy his recommendation made me, not only was my downpayment sitting with a contractor that was presented as their official rep., but he now wanted me to shell out money to yet another contractor who now was their official rep. Of course, he stated that SIMPLEX MODULARS was not responsible for any contract with a builder. So i guess he figures that we should kiss our money goodbye, and put our faith back in their hands to be ripped off all over again? This saga i am sure will continue for quite some time, but my point in typing this letter if to inform other unsuspecting purchasers to BEWARE.
