I am thinking about bying a MH show home off the lot. I am looking at a 2004 Skyline Greenbriar series with 2,300 sq ft. It has about $6000 worth of options like tape and texture in main living areas and a bar in the FR are the biggest. They will put in some basement steps for free and add a 7 year warranty. The price I have negotiated down to is $72,900. There is no freight since it is already on the lot and i have negotiated down their "crane fee" by getting numbers from other dealers. I was quoted a price of $74,900 to order the same home with everything standard. So is this a good deal?
thanks,

Is this a good deal?
Re: Is this a good deal?
Hey Rod, check out some other manufacturers first. Since you are in Kansas, why not join us for the Manufactured Housing show in March here in Des Moines? Check out some other homes before you plunk down that cash. I am a fellow homeowner about ready to trade in my home, but am taking that one in, too. It is usually held in the Varied Industries Building at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. Might be a drive, but if it saves you cash why not?
Another thing you might want to find out is how is this home built? It might have a load of bells and whistles, but just what is holding up those bells and whistles?
Time is on your side, use it. This is the biggest investment you will make in your life, so don't rush into something like I did. Now I am having a real time trying to get this done.
