Warranty on Shingles

We are buying a 1993 Schult on contract. I was told by the original owner that there was a 20 year warranty on the Shingles. I was wondering if anyone knows if that warranty is transferred to us. I need to chase up the original paperwork but Schult told me today that the warranty is probably not transferrable as we are not the original owers. Does anyone know about this? Thanks for your help in advance.

I saw the answer on the other board...Mark is very right...I doubt that this warranty is transferable also...
I had this happen on a home I owned once after 12 years....First I had to prove what kind of shingles I had...well..it was a stick home ..biulder out of business...building supply place out of business..no identification on the shingles....I was told that I would have to have the original package the shingles came in...I gave up..
