Choosing a Dealer
Choosing a Dealer
We are looking at buying land in Golden Valley AZ. It is between Bullhead City and Kingman. We are looking at various manufactures of mfg homes.
My question is would it be better to buy from a local dealer or drop down to Tucson or Phoenix wher the prices appear to be lower.
Re: Choosing a Dealer
At the risk of sounding like a broken record, because I've sung their praises on this board several times now, you simply must pay Palm Harbor in Chino Valley, AZ a visit!. We are currently customers of theirs, and they are simply a top-notch, ultra-professional team over there, and if you end up doing business with them you will not be sorry! We are in Las Vegas, and started out working with a dealership closer to home, but they turned out to be highly un-professional. We turned to Chino Valley, even though they are a four hour drive for us, and even with the incovenience, we are so happy we found them! They keep their prices reasonable by not marking up their options, preferring to deal in volume rather than high profit margins. They will give you prompt, itemized written quotes on what you need, and will keep in regular communication with you. Drop by and tell them Tanya F. sent you!
Oh, and speaking of Bullhead City, we also dropped by an independent dealership on the main street there off the river. I can't remember the name of it, but it's name had three initials, like MTI or INT, or something. They looked like bad news!! Their models were thrown together, left on their trailer hitches, cracks everywhere, marriage seams not matching, one tiny single-wide rocked so badly we thought it would tip over if we walked too far into the kitchen! We left there in a hurry.
Anyway, feel free to email me if you want more details.

Re: Choosing a Dealer
They may be cheaper in Tucson or Phoenix, but it may be all a wash, since your delivery fee will be higher because you're not in their radius. I think it calls for price negotiation.
Re: Choosing a Dealer
Would the delivery fee be higher? Doesn't that depend on the location of the factory, not the dealer?
