1. Region of country: Iowa
2. Quality, sturdy construction
3. Energy efficiency
Looking for recommendations of manufacturers of MH for this region of the country. Prime concern is for quality construction and energy efficiency. Have been working with a dealer in central Iowa who seems to have a good reputation. Has been really willing to work with us and answer questions, do rough pricing, etc. even though we are probably a year away from a final decision. His brochures are from Highland Manufacturing of Worthington, Minnesota. Does anyone have any input about this company????? Would like to have recommendations for other quality homes suitable for this part of the country. Have, also, had some talks with a dealer who used to represent Hart Homes but has since left due to "internal changes at Hart that we do not feel serve the best interests of our customers". He now is promoting Dutch Housing, Inc. I know that a good dealer who will back you up with service after the sale is important, but the first part is a manufacturer who builds quality homes and will work to remedy problems, if any, after the sale......i.e. good warranty and sticks to it. All recommendations, thoughts. etc. welcome.

Re: Recommendations/info
A good dealer is the key...good dealers will be handling the best product and be the most helpful in helping you decide...
Since you have time to get info...you might want to consider the book store on this site and purchase one of the books designed to help you buy...They all are good at basic construction info...and will give you a good idea which construction features are important and good to have...Once you decide on the features you want...then find a manufacturer in your area that offers them...
As far as energy is concerned....Be sure you get an EPA Energy Star Certified Home....This is the highest energy standard in the building industry...A few approved manufacturers offer the standards as standard features..others offer them as options..Check out..
