I don't know if I have seen this subject here before, but when does my responsibility start as far as insurance on the home goes?

If something happens, as it did here recently in a windstorm, and half of the house is blown over on the freeway, who is responsible?

When the home rolls out of the facotyr or when it is delivered and set at the site?

There is a number of different insurance policies that come into play...Sometimes the dividing line between who pays is a little unclear..

The factory will have insurance on the home when it is in their yard...During transport to the dealer the hauler has insurance and the factory policy is also in force....Once the dealer signs for the home on his location the factory and hauler insurance are no longer in play..the dealers is..

Dealer insurance will cover the home on his lot..hauler insurance to your lot..then dealer insurance covers the home while it is being constructed..Dealer insurance will ONLY cover the home and its contents..

Home owner insurance comes into play when the home is ready to live in...If there is a unclear moment it is here...just when is the home ready to live in...often defined when utilities are connected and turned on..For everyone's peace of mind and sound pocketbook..It is best that both the dealer and the homeowner have insurance at this point...that way if something does happen..at least the fight is between the 2 insurance companies as to who will pay..

The wreck on the highway you mentioned would NOT involve homeowners insurance in any way..
