I bought a 1 year old (never lived in) Skyline (I believe model 934) in California. The carport has rain gutters but the rest of the house does not. There is no overhang over the front door. During a severe storm recently with "horizontal rain", with the front door closed, rain hitting the door soaked the inside carpet about 1' inside the door.
My question is: Should there have been a rain gutter or overhang included with this Skyline? It is still under warranty. Should I have the floor inspected since it has probably been soaked for a few days out of it's two winters?
Thanks for any suggestions.

No rain gutters or overhang
Re: No rain gutters or overhang
Make sure the floor is dried out well...Is the home still under warranty...Rain..no matter how hard should not come through the door..
You might investigate an awning for over the door...but..it should NOT leak without it..

Re: No rain gutters or overhang
Thanks much for your response. I'll see if I can get this corrected under warranty.

Usually rain gutters are an added item, not included in the purchase price, at least here in Oregon.
Re: No rain gutters or overhang
I had this problem at my sliding glass door many years ago. The rain was hitting the deck outside the door and bouncing up under the door. The factory sent out some repair men that determined what was happening and caulked the bottom of the frame. No problems in the last almost 20 years!
