Title not clear

We bought (paid cash) a used mobile home in 1992, we thought we had lost the title over the years, but come to find out we had never recieved one, when we called the DMV to find out about it. they said that the title still had a lean on it from the original owners in 1988. The dealer tried to act like we had put the loan on it, till I finally got across to him we had bought it used from him, so then he wants to use it as a trade in and finance us a new trailer, I just want my title so I can move the unit, what recourse do I have, we are located in Arkansas. Any help would be appreciated.

You are kinda lucky the dealer is still in business...I suspect that there is a title agency that you can file a complaint with..one that is responsible for his license...

Also I am sure there is a proceedure to obtain an abandoned title...Your title office or states web site should be able to help you with the proceedure..Good Luck

Need to know how to do a title search on a mobile home that I sold outright and the mortgage Co. is trying to tell me I signed a Transfer of Equity Loan to a 80 year old man in horrible health. Sure you have hear this before regarding Greentree Financial Services in Crowley, Texas.
