Help - we can't sell..
Anybody who has any advice or information for us would be greatly appreciated. We have been trying to sell our 16 x 80, 2000 Fairmont for over two years. It is a very nice home, in like new condition with three bedrooms, 2 bathroom, top of the line carpet, insulation etc. We have had no luck what so ever, we are consigned to the fact that we are going to lose money on this house, but is it possible we really could lose up to $20k? We owe 43K on it. Just to add to our problems, our park is now closing and no one would even consider buying it from us here so now we have to pay more to relocate it and put it up for sale again.
We just don't know what to do, we aren't really in a position to lose 50% on this house, but we can afford to lose some. What do you suggest? Should we try to move it and rent it out if we can't sell it? Do you know of any companies who would buy them from us, but not at a pathetic price?
Any help would be so great.
Thanks, Jeannie.
Re: Help - we can't sell..
Any home that has to be moved is hard to sell and a single is even harder because financing is so difficult to get. There is such a glut of singles on the market that you will be forced to lose a significant amount if you can sell it at all. You might want to consider buying some land and put it on that to live in or to rent. It is not just MH but any house you have to move is not very saleable. It is ashame that dealers get people to move into a park "why pay rent when you can own your own home" when they go to sell it there are no buyers. I know thats not want you want to hear but experience has demonstrated thats the fact.
