My wife and I have found several goverment Programs that would help ease the financial burdon of purchasing a home... These programs are not geared to mobile homes however they will do manufactures and modular... What is the difference between a Mobile and Manufactered house... WOuld the Horton we have been looking at be mobile or manufactured... Sorry for all the questions guys we are just trying to be smart about our purchase... You know silly little things like quality value things like that...
Thanx again Robert and Tara
One More Question
Re: One More Question
For government definitions.....For government programs...
A MOBILE HOME is a factory built home built before 1976...
All new Horton's are either manufactured (means they are certified to have been built to the HUD code) or modular homes (built to a state enforced building code)...both would most likely qualify for the programs you mention...
Buy the way..just what programs are you talking about??????

Rmurray the programs I am talking about are....
Florida fousing finance program and down payment assistance program... They will pay up to 15,000 towards the purchase of the home provided your income falls below 57,000 a year with a family of 4... then they give you an intrest rate under prime and you pay the 15,000 back only if you move sell or rent the home... The 15k is of course intrest free... Then the down payment assistance program will pay your down payment and closing costs for you and give you moving expenses...

If manufactured homes are not included...modulars probably are..many manufacturers in Florida build on frame modulars at or about the same price of most high quality manufactured homes...This type of savings could make the modular a better buy...Be prepared...these types of governemtn programs are notorouisly slow motion...Good Luck
